"I learned as a young child how to fight back against injustice, as I watched my mother march alongside Cesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta. As a legislator, I have stood up to MAGA extremists to fight for a more progressive Colorado."
Support My Campaign for State Senate District 22
Before I ever held a title. Before I ever passed a bill. I was a single mom, surviving domestic violence, sleeping in a car with a child I loved more than life itself. And I'll be honest with you: There were nights I didn't think I'd make it. Not into politics. Not into public service. Just make it. But I did. Because sometimes all you have is your voice — and the decision to use it. People like me? We're told to keep quiet. Told we don't belong in politics. Told we can't win. And then — we do.
I ran a race they said I couldn't win. I passed policies they said would never make it through. And I didn't do it by playing it safe. I did it by standing up — over and over — for people who never feel seen. Because I remember what it's like to be in the shadows. And I made a promise: If I ever had a mic, I'd use it for someone else's voice. This work isn't abstract for me. It's personal. I fight for the woman trapped in silence, wondering how she'll feed her kids. I fight for the young person who's been told their pain doesn't matter.

I fight for the working family buried by bills, for the animal left in the cold, for the neighbors who feel forgotten by a system that favors the powerful. Because I've lived it. I didn't get into this to "be somebody." I got into this to do something. To prove that policy can heal. That government can serve. That courage isn't about how loud you are — it's about how deeply you care. And yes, I've got scars. But they make me stronger, not weaker. They remind me every single day who I am fighting for — and why. So if you've ever been underestimated. If you've ever been counted out. If you've ever been told to stay in your place.
Then let me tell you: You belong in this fight. Because our communities don't need perfection. They need persistence. They need someone who's been through the fire — and still walks forward with purpose. That's why I'm here. And that's why I'm asking you to stand with me. Not just for what's possible — but for what's right. Let's build something bigger than fear. Let's govern with compassion. Let's protect the most vulnerable. Let's bring dignity back into the center of politics. And let's never forget: Where you start should never define how far you can go.
I'm proof of that. Now let's fight for a future where everyone gets the same chance. I humbly ask for your support as I run to be your next State Senator of Senate District 22.
