I was grateful to receive the 2024 Laws for Paws Legislator of the Year Award presented at the 5th Annual Law for Paws Fundraiser Event. I want to thank Laws for Paws for this award and all the work they do to help protect animals in Colorado. Last session, Governor Polis signed HB24-1458 into law, which created the Division of Animal Welfare within the Department of Agriculture and will be directed by Joe Stafford to support domestic animals and livestock across the state of Colorado.
