I am proud to have received the CAPE Advocacy and Governance Award. I want to say thank you to the Center for Advocacy, Prevention, and Empowerment for this award and their advocacy towards helping individuals affected by sexual assault, relationship violence, and stalking. Their work is instrumental at Denver University to help students, faculty, and the community through traumatic events and in prevention education. As House Majority Leader, I have always advocated to protect those affected by violence. Last session, Governor Polis signed HB24-1122 and HB24-1349 into law, which will create the crime victim fund and increase safety and legal protections for individuals affected by sexual or physical violence.
