Rep. Monica Duran
Honoring Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
"I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word in reality. This is why right, temporarily defeated, is stronger than evil triumphant." – MLK, Nobel Peace Prize acceptance speech, Oslo, Norway, 1964.
Please join me in celebrating the legacy of Dr. Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. over this long weekend. I will be spending my time reflecting on the lessons of peace, love, and courage in the face of injustice that Dr. King preached in his quest for equality. Dr. King has been an inspiration throughout my life and I look to him as an example as I fight to create a more equitable and just Colorado for everyone; regardless of creed or color, race or religion, gender or sexual orientation, zip code or wealth bracket. Martin Luther King Jr. taught us to dream for a better tomorrow and I am honored to have the chance to work towards his vision.
